The Kool-Stop D160E is formulated for e-bikes, with a ceramic layered heat barrier between the organic friction material and the backing plate to reduce heat transfer into the caliper. It is designed to reduce the chances of brake fade at the higher speeds of heavier modern e-bikes. Versions are available for many brakes, and each is sold as a pair.
