Greg Minnaar, a 3 time World Champ downhill rider, designed the Maxxis Assegai himself. It combines elements from 4 of Greg's favorite Maxxis tires, the DHR II, DHF, Shorty and High Roller, in a tread of alternating vertical knobs with deep siping, 3 horizontal knobs and large corner knobs for improved traction in the turns. This bike park model has a Dual Compound tread on a dual-ply 60 TPI downhill construction with a butyl insert for support and rim protection. It's tubeless ready, has a Wide Track casing for rims over 35mm internal width, and comes as a 29x2.5 wire bead tire.
